FIRST OF ALL WE ARE TRAVELERS

Hello! We are Beatrice and Roberto, the owners of the house. We both grew up in Milan but for us the city of Como, with its lake and mountains, was love at first sight and our home for 10 years. We bought this house because we fell in love with its large windows and the view of nature and the mountains and we renovated it in an industrial and minimalist style.

Now we own a real estate agency and we live in Milan, our job is to help people sell their house and then find their new dream home. Houses are one of our greatest passions. In our free time we like to visit some cities or some small historical villages, hungry for art, architecture and natural landscapes.

We started traveling together when we were 20 years old and had very little money in our pockets. We took our first vacations sleeping in the car or in a tent in campsites, starting to collect beautiful memories and live wonderful adventures. Traveling is good for the mind and soul and based on our experience we can say that sometimes you have the feeling of finding a new home in places you have never been before, and other times trips are useful to look at what you have with new eyes and with more gratitude when you return home. Every trip has its color and even when you return to a place you see and feel different things, because in the meantime maybe we have changed.

WHY ISKANTE

ISKANTE is first of all a beautiful story. The story of two young people in love who decide to leave their jobs as employees in Italy and move abroad to a city chosen randomly on a map, search for something. Of all the experiences abroad, the most significant was in fact the one in St. Petersburg in Russia, where we also left a part of our hearts.

Iskante is a neologism invented by us that takes its inspiration from the verb Искать (iskat') which means "to seek". A verb that we have Italianized and conjugated in the present participle, a verbal tense that indicates an action in progress but contemporary with the main action; a verb that, at the same time, can also be an adjective.

For us, Iskante is someone who, despite the daily routine, is still constantly searching for something: a new idea to welcome, a new color to discover in the world, a new project to work hard on, a new way to do things better. Iskante is someone who lives life to the fullest, keeping the roots strong but sometimes drastically thinning out the dry branches, to be able to prepare itself to make new and beautiful flowers.
